Sorry for my silence for such a long time. Finally, we're back on track (again:-) We've had some ups and downs lately...I'm not only talking about the emotional roller coaster of trying to be patient until this entire project is finished, but a few technical difficulties we've had to overcome.
For example it turned out that the custom made front door that we planned to install, can't be made according to our plans (the arch window on top of the door, the glass type that we chose for this particular type of door), so after weeks of painstaking drawings, calculations, measurements, Dave, our contractor, decided to go to the distributor and talk to him in person. Finally, decision has been made, and the front door framing and arch has been rebuilt. I could understand the workers' frustration -it's not fun to take everything apart, and do it all over again...I shared their frustration...It's already October, and the light at the end of the tunnel seems to be further and further...But we've been hanging in there for a while, so we won't give up...Not too much left! But from now on we're going to be much busier, that's for sure. (It's not that we haven't been busy so far)
We passed the rough inspection a couple of weeks ago, and that was a mile stone that we really wanted to reach. After this step, we can start working on the insulation, dry walls and stucco. If everything goes smoothly, we're going to have the insulation finished by the end of this week. Fingers crossed!:-)
Elnézést, hogy ilyen sokáig hallgattam: Végre (ismét) sinen vagyunk:-) Volt egy pár hullámvölgy mostanában. Nemcsak az érzelmi hullámvasútról beszélek, amely annak eredménye, hogy próbálunk türelemmel lenni, amig ez az egész projekt végre befejeződik, de néhány technikai problémán is túl kellett jutnunk. Pl. kiderült, hogy a bejárati ajtó, amit mi szerettünk volna, nem gyártható le a mi elképzelésünk szerint (az ajtó feletti iv, az üveg, amelyet ehhez az ajtótipushoz választottunk), igy aztán több hetes fáradságos méricskélés, tervezés, rajzolás után Dave, a vállalkozónk elment a forgalmazóhoz, hogy személyesen beszéljen vele. Végül megszületett a döntés: az ajtó keretet, és az iveket újracsinálták. Meg tudtam érteni a munkások frusztráltságát - nem valami vidám dolog valamit szétszedni, és az egészet újrakezdeni. Én is osztottam az érzéseiket. Már október van, és a fény az alagút végén valahogy egyre halványabbnak tűnik. De már jó ideje kitartunk, úgyhogy nem adjuk fel! :-) Nem túl sok maradt. Innentől kezdve megint elfoglaltak leszünk. (Nem mintha eddig nem lettünk volna:-)
Sikeresen átmentünk az ellenőrzésen, amely a falak felépitése után következik. Nagyon vártuk már, hogy ehhez a mérföldkőhöz elérjünk, ugyanis e lépés után már kezdődhet a külső-belső szigetelés, gipszkarton falak berakása és a külső vakolás. Ha minden simán megy, e hét végére remélhetőleg befejezik a szigetelést. Drukkolok! :-)
