Decisions, decisions....Döntések, döntések

Yep...all those little details....so many decisions. As the construction is approaching the next phase, we need to make all those decisions about exterior color and roofing, flooring, tiles and fixtures in the bathrooms, lights inside and outside the house, kitchen cabinets and appliances and who knows what else...:) I actually like shopping online for all those things, learning more about materials, pros and cons, cost, local distributors etc. We had a little celebration today, Shawn, one of the workers had his birthday today. Dave has a good team with nice guys, they're almost like a family, sharing not only job responsibilities but their personal problems as well. And as we're spending more and more time with them (so to speak, since we are here on the property, so talk to them on a daily basis) we're becoming part of their "family" too...Today I took a few photos of the crew, just to make memories...:)

Bizony, az a sok apró részlet...az a sok döntés. Ahogy az épitkezés a következő fázishoz közeledik, olyanokról kell dönteni, mint külső burkolat szine, tetőzet, belső padlő burkolatok, fürdőszobai csempék és szerelvények, külső és belső világitás, konyhai szekrények és felszerelések, és még ki tudja...Tulajdonképpen élvezettel "vásárolgatok" online, sok újat tanulok az anyagokról, pro és kontra érvekről, árakról forgalmazókról.
Ma kisebb ünnepséget rendeztünk, ui. Shawn, az egyik munkás ünnepelte születésnapját. Davenek nagyon jó kis csapata van, rendes emberekkel, majdnem mint egy család...nemcsak a munkát osztják meg, hanem személyes problémáikat is. És ahogy mi is egyre több időt töltünk velük (hiszen itt vagyunk a telken, napi szinten beszélünk velük), mi is szinte a "család" részei lettünk. Ma csináltam egy pár képet a csapatról, csak úgy emléknek...:)

Making progress

So we met this contractor last Saturday, but before that we had a fun adventure. As we were dropping off Easter Service invitation fliers of our church at the neighborhood, we came across a nice house with a few features that we plan to have. So Wayne rang and a lady answered the door. It turned out that they were Christians too. We made a compliment about their nice house, adding that we were planning to remodel our house too and we liked the features of theirs. The lady was like, oh my husband is a contractor and actually he's done all the work on our house. They even invited us in and showed us around...the icing on the cake was that it turned out that the husband was Croatian (I could tell he had some European accent:) and after I mentioned that we were from Hungary, he said 'oh, then we're neighbors' . Still alive and kicking:) Még élünk és virulunk:)

The living room is Noemi's "ballrom" now:) - a nappali most éppen Noémi bálterme:) master bath Master bedroom...who is that ballerina? :) Szülői háló, és Noémi "balerina" :) tiling is done in the kitchen - burkolás kész a konyhában It's been more than a year since my last post....my bad:) Well, seems that our project is getting closer to the finish line...Thanks to my in-laws' generosity, we can keep going. Noemi's bedroom is done, so she could move in, too. Flooring and tiling is done throughout the house, now we're working on the details. Final plumbing, getting appliances, shopping for bathroom vanities etc. I can't wait for shopping for furniture and accessories...Hopefully soon:) Több mint egy éve irtam utoljára...az én hibám:) De úgy tűnik, közeledünk a célhoz.
