A házunk 2008 nyarán, amikor hazajöttünk 1 hónapos magyarországi látogatás után.
Hát én is beléptem a blogolók táborába : ) Kiélhetem grafomániám, és megoszthatom veletek, a családdal, barátokkal és mindenki mással életünk egy új szakaszának kezdetét. Az új ház épitésének gondolata már évekkel ezelőtt felmerült, mielőtt Kaliforniába költöztünk. Aztán - kisebb kitérők után - most végre eljutottunk odáig, hogy a tervek lassan valósággá válhatnak. Közel 2 év tervezgetés, álmodozás után a realitás rögös talaján tesszük meg most az első lépéseket. Izgalmas és félelmetes! : ) Eddig a lakókocsit csak kisebb kiruccanásokra használtuk, és csak belekóstoltunk, milyen is 30 m2
alatti területen összezárva lenni. Na, most aztán lesz részünk benne...De a cél lebegjen az ember szeme előtt, nem igaz? Ami nem más, mint az új ház! : )
Tegnap történelmi pillanat volt, amikor Wayne elkezdett dolgozni a garázs előtti területen, és kiselejtezett jónéhány holmit, mint régi bicikli, tároló dobozok stb. Most a járda mellett tonyosulnak a lomok,remélhetőleg hamarosan elviszi a szemetes.
Holnap és szombaton jön 1-1 vállalkozó, árajánlatot adni. Ja, tegnap Brenda és Henry a szomszédból átjött megnezni a tervrajzokat, és elismeréssel mondták: this is a major undertaking! (ez aztán egy hatalmas vállalkozás)

Well, I've joined the bloggers' community so I can share this new phase of our life with our friends, family and everyone out there :) The idea of building a new house (or rather rebuilding the one we are living in now) was born years ago, but it has become a reality just recently. After more than 2 years of planning, daydreaming, we are making our first steps on the bumpy road of reality now :) It is exciting and scary. Our motor home has only been used for short trips so far, and we just have a foretaste of what it's like to live in such a "cozy house" (really tiny, that's the right word:) But let's fix our eyes on our goal, ie. our new house - 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms and a basement...yay! :)
We celebrated our very first historical moment of starting our BIG PROJECT yesterday: Wayne started working on the driveway in front of the garage, which is a big mess now...His plan is to get rid of the junk, so that we can move the land cruiser and the motor home and demolish the garage. We have an appointment with 2 contractors on Saturday, hopefully they will be able to give us reasonable estimates for demo, excavation and foundation. Brenda and Henry came over yesterday to take a look at the house plans, and they were like, wow, this is a major undertaking! Yep, it is :)
