Roof is done - Elkészült a tető

It seems to me that things have kinda slowed down recently, but it doesn't mean there is no progress at all :) We finally decided on the roof color, which is terracotta, and now we can enjoy our nice new roof. It was put up in a day, yay!
The plumbers and electrician are still working inside, and if we can order the 2 bath tubs for the kids bathroom and for the master bath in a couple of days, then Lee, our plumber can install them this weekend. Fingers crossed:) By the way, I've learned something new again: about bath tub materials. Now I know what are the pros and cons of cast iron and acrylic/fiberglass bath tubs. Haha, I'm getting a DIY expert - sort of (since it's not really a DIY project:))

Making progress

So we met this contractor last Saturday, but before that we had a fun adventure. As we were dropping off Easter Service invitation fliers of our church at the neighborhood, we came across a nice house with a few features that we plan to have. So Wayne rang and a lady answered the door. It turned out that they were Christians too. We made a compliment about their nice house, adding that we were planning to remodel our house too and we liked the features of theirs. The lady was like, oh my husband is a contractor and actually he's done all the work on our house. They even invited us in and showed us around...the icing on the cake was that it turned out that the husband was Croatian (I could tell he had some European accent:) and after I mentioned that we were from Hungary, he said 'oh, then we're neighbors' . I like these little “adventures” or coincidences, I know there are no coincidences though. Anyway, back to our meeting with the contractor. I can tell that it wa...

The big day:) / A nagy nap :)

Yes, the big day is here: we started the demolition on Monday, June 7th! The previous night was crazy, we had to clean out the whole house...Even though I had started it quite a few days earlier, still there was a lot in there. Clothes in the closets, kitchen utensils, lots of canned food in the pantry (I wonder why on earth we have to keep so much stuff in the pantry) folders in the file cabinet, toys,  you name it...Travis came over to help take out the big pieces, like the stove, TV, refrigerator etc. We were up till midnight, so exhausted by then that could hardly move :) We just pulled out everything, put them in boxes, not caring any more about sorting things...Now most of them are in boxes all around - in the shed, in the pool (this is our new storage place, it had been drained,of course:-) I'm sure it'll take days till we can find everything we need :) After the long, tiring day, we fell asleep really quickly in the motor home :) Monday morning came fast, the demo guys...
